Namaskaram! This is Vishnupriya, in my previous blogs I shared about the importance of the Navaratri festival and the procedures to celebrate Golu for beginners. In this blog I am going to talk about how to arrange dolls and do the Naivedhyam during these 9 nights.
Before arranging the Golu steps make ganesh with turmeric and keep it on top first then start arranging the steps from the lower step.
- 1st step - Idols with single sense such as plants, and grass.
- 2nd step - Idols with two senses like animals that live in the sea /ocean.
- 3rd step - Idols with three senses like ants etc,.
- 4th step - Idols with four senses like crabs, beetles, etc,.
- 5th step - Idols with five senses like tortoises, frogs.
- 6th step - Idols with six sense - humans.
- 7th step - Idols with saints, siddars & rishis.
- 8th step - Idols with asta lakshmi & devars.
- 9th step - Idols with supreme gods - Brahma, Vishnu & Shiva.
Naivedyam for the days
- Day 1: Ven Pongal, Red Karamani Sundal, Arisi Appam, Gothumai Appam.
- Day 2: Kadamba Sadham, White Pattani Sundal, Arisi Payasam.
- Day 3: Sweet Pongal, Rajam Sundal, Thayar Laddu.
- Day 4: Curd Rice, Pacha Payaru Sundal, Payatham Paruppu Okkarai.
- Day 5: Lemon Rice, Konda Kadalai Sundal, Kasa Kasa Payasam.
- Day 6: Coconut Rice, Mochai Sundal, Arisi Puttu.
- Day 7: Ellodharai, Karuppu Ulundu Sundal, Ellu Urundai.
- Day 8: Kalkandu Sadham, White Karamani Sundal, Wheat Halwa.
- Day 9: Akkaravadisal, Verkkadalai Sundal, Pasiparuppu Urundai.
- Day 10: Sweet Pongal, White Karamani Sundal, Paal Payasam.
