Thirugnana Sambandar and Thirunavukkarasar (Appar) visited Thiru Marai Kadu Temple and found the main entrance closed, with devotees using a side entrance. They learned the Vedas worshipped Lord Shiva there and then closed the door. Moved by devotion, Appar sang a hymn starting with “Pannin Ner Mozhiyal,” pleading for the doors to open. Miraculously, the doors opened, allowing them to worship through the main entrance. Later, Appar requested Sambandar to sing a hymn to regulate the doors. Sambandar’s Pathigam, beginning with “Chathuram Marai,” consecrated the doors, enabling them to function normally for daily worship.
